A fever in an immunocompromised patient may be the only warning sign of a rapidly progressing, life-threatening infection. This session will provide a practical, evidence-based approach to evaluating immunocompromised patients in the ED, including risk stratification, diagnostic priorities, timely antimicrobial selection, and disposition planning across a range of underlying conditions. You'll leave with greater confidence in recognizing subtle presentations, initiating appropriate treatment, and making critical management decisions that can significantly impact patient outcomes.
